This is a very easy project that you can make with scrap pieces of fabric to freshen up old lampshades.
What you will need:
- Rectangle piece of fabric. About 2-3 times wider (when folded) than the lampshade you’re using. Also make sure there’ enough fabric to add folds at the top and bottom and still cover the entire shade.
- Elastic bands.
- Lampshade, obviously. I decided to add a black chiffon fabric to an old-ish white shade from IKEA.
Zig-zag all edges of the fabric to prevent fraying.
Fold the fabric rectangle in half and sew it together to make a tube.
Sew little canals for the elastic bands at the top and bottom of your tube.
Get the elastic bands into the canals you just made and pull the tube over the lampshade. Adjust the bands and you’re done!
